As senior vice president, general manager and partner, Janine Allen serves as a senior communications advisor across client sectors, including technology, retail, payments, real estate, investment and professional services. Her position as general manager means she also oversees and has responsibility for the day to day operations of the agency.
Janine specializes in developing strategic communications platforms that enhance visibility and transform relationships with key media, stakeholders and influencers, while respecting and aligning with corporate business goals. She has broad experience in helping clients tell their story through influencer engagement, business and consumer media, marketing and advertising, direct to consumer activities and experiential activations. She is also skilled in navigating and mitigating issues, from preparedness planning to executive media training and crisis response activities. From data breaches to financial crises to corporate scandal, Janine has helped clients manage through challenge and change, protecting and repairing the resulting loss to brand reputation.
Before joining Kaiser Lachance, Janine served as senior director of marketing at Sears Canada where she managed brand marketing and communications activities for the organization. Within that role, she was responsible for strengthening media and industry relationships, brand and reputation management, new product announcements and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Earlier in her career, she held the position of vice president at a global communications agency where she provided strategic counsel for clients in the payments, real estate, retail, travel and tourism, non-profit and food and beverage sectors in addition to leading the agency’s Toronto Consumer practice group. Her clients benefited from her extensive experience in change and issues management, stakeholder, media, employee and investor communications, marketing communications and social media.
Janine holds a post graduate degree in public relations from Humber College and an honours Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Queen’s University. In 2017, she was honoured with the award for CPRS’s PR Practitioner of the Year.
