Yes, you read it right, Gabriele’s here from StFX and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her in our team!
Gabriele joined our winter internship program at the beginning of January, bringing her bubbly personality, always-ready attitude and contagious laughter to our Toronto office. Starting together with Kristina Gumennaya, Gabriele has quickly adapted to agency life, and will be incorporating her experience at KLC into her co-op program at St. Francis Xavier University where she is working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing.
#FunFact: Gabriele’s university, St. Francis Xavier’s athletics mascots are called Captain X and Super Xavia and university athletes are called X-Men and X-Women. When the X-Men movie was in development, Producers had to contact the University to secure the rights of the name “X-Men” for the film.
We asked our X-Woman about her interests and why she chose KLC for her co-op program:
Tell us about the moment you decided you wanted to be in PR?
When I was applying for co-op positions, I made the decision to branch out from just marketing roles, because I feel that PR offers many valuable skills that won’t only help me in future careers, but also in everyday life.
What has been your proudest career moment to date?
I created a two-year social media plan for multiple accounts under St. Francis Xavier University. As I implemented my plan, I was able to see the improvements my ideas and research brought to the media pages.
What does your ideal Saturday look like?
Definitely sleeping in, followed by brunch and spending time with those I love – friends or family -and ending the day curled up in bed with one of my cats and watching a movie.
Where would your dream trip take you?
It’s impossible to choose just one dream trip! I’ve never been a fan of winter, so it’s my dream to move to Australia for at least a couple years post university. Besides Australia, I’d do a backpacking trip across Europe, and I’d make a point to visit England, Spain, France, Belgium, and depending on the time I’d like to try skiing in the Alps.
Do you have any secret talents?
I’m really good at building IKEA furniture!
Extra: Can we call you an X-Woman, for the purpose of your welcome blog?
Sure. Me and my friends often do intramural sports including soccer, volleyball, football and frisbee – I guess that makes us X-Men and X-Women.
Gabriele’s sense of humour and cheerful disposition have been a great addition to the KLC team’s culture. Welcome Gabriele, we’re happy to have you on board!
