World Oceans Day

Intro: Oceana Canada is part of the largest international ocean conservation and advocacy organization, which works to protect and restore the world’s oceans through targeted policy campaigns.

The brief: Oceana Canada enlisted KLC’s help to create awareness for World Oceans Day to leverage the launch of its new presence in Canada. As a new brand, it needed to engage an agency with a thorough understanding of the Canadian media landscape. The goal was to create awareness and support for the organization and educate Canadians on what needs to be done to preserve our oceans.

The outcome: KLC worked with Oceana Canada to create a powerful media campaign. By leveraging existing media relationships and utilizing Oceana’s global spokesperson and television personality, Ted Danson, KLC was able to help secure nearly nine million media impressions over the course of the three-day campaign.  This coverage included many notable TV programs such as eTalk Daily, Breakfast Television and The Weather Network.
